In all the years I investigated and researched the UFO and assorted paranormal topics, I always thought of myself as being pretty tough, fairly sharp, and not so easy to bullshit. Oh, that is not to say I haven't been bullshitted, but usually not for long. Well Brother, did I get taken for a ride recently. Not only me but the entire UFO/Paranormal community was gobsmacked by a guy I thought was the real deal and not only the real deal, but the real deal for decades. I hosted him as a guest on Dark Matters Radio, considered him a friend and pushed his work. Who? Philip J. Imbrogno. This sad story started back in very early May when a Paracast user/skeptic Lance Moody first contacted me on The Paracast with information that Imbrogno was practicing academic fraud. I have to tell you I initially did not believe it. Hell, I have known Imbrogno for decades! But after it was proven to me I started wondering about his claims of having been U.S. Army Special Forces and being a Viet Nam veteran. Now, as far as I am concerned, Stolen Valor is an even bigger scandal than academic fraud. I started an investigation, and I might add with a sick stomach wrenching feeling the whole time.
